DO'S DURING A CORBETT SAFARI

A safari in Corbett Tiger Reserve is an opportunity to experience wildlife in its natural habitat. Responsible behaviour helps protect animals, the forest and the safety of visitors.

Follow Your Guide's Instructions

Always follow the instructions of your registered Nature Guide and authorised safari driver.

Maintain Silence

Keep your voice low. Avoid shouting, calling animals or making unnecessary sounds. The quieter you are, the better your chances of experiencing the forest naturally.

Stay Inside the Safari Vehicle

Remain seated inside the authorised vehicle unless your guide or Forest Department rules specifically permit you to get out at a designated location.

Maintain a Safe Distance

Wild animals must always be given adequate space. Never ask your driver to move dangerously close to an animal for a photograph.

Respect Wildlife

Observe animals without disturbing their natural behaviour. Allow them to cross the road or move away without obstruction.

Keep Your Camera Ready

Wildlife sightings can happen suddenly. Keep your camera or binoculars ready, but never use flash photography on animals.

Carry Essential Items

Carry:

  • Government-approved ID
  • Safari permit
  • Drinking water
  • Binoculars
  • Camera
  • Sunscreen
  • Cap/hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Appropriate clothing
  • Any essential personal items
Stay on Designated Safari Routes

Safari vehicles must follow the authorised routes and timings specified by the Forest Department.

Keep the Forest Clean

Carry your waste back with you. Use designated bins where available.

Be Patient

Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Enjoy the forest, birds, landscapes, alarm calls and natural sounds even when a tiger is not seen.
